The Colonel of Cornhole is hand selected each year and is recognized for their work dedicated to supporting the children, youth and families of Santa Clara County.

Superintendent Juan Cruz has made significant contributions to providing support to families within FMSD. During his tenure, he championed the openings of the Seven Trees and Shirakawa Family Resource Centers, effectively doubling the number of centers in the district from 2 to 4.

Additionally, Superintendent Cruz has played a pivotal role in leading the Franklin McKinley Children's Initiative, serving on the Economic Development Committee. His leadership efforts have brought additional partners to the committee, strengthening the cradle-to-career pipeline for our community.

ABOUT US

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County changes lives for good. We are the social justice arm of the Catholic Church and we work towards building a just and compassionate community with all people in a changing Santa Clara County.

We do this in three ways.

  1. First, we alleviate the conditions of chronic poverty through food, housing assistance, access to benefits, senior services, and mental health services.
  2. Second, we reduce the effects of situational poverty by providing jobs, immigration legal services, refugee foster care, financial literacy, and asset development.
  3. Third, we prevent the cycle of generational poverty through early childhood development, parenting support, after-school enhanced learning, and youth empowerment. We strengthen our communities through parish and community engagement, immigrant and refugee integration, and neighborhood development services. Each year, we serve more than 100,000 people in need, including through our affiliate Charities Housing Development Corporation.

Join us in support of the 40+ programs and 80,000+ people we serve each year!
